This year, our 3rd graders, completed country projects that investigated the culture, people, food, and art of a chosen country. To complement the experience, we created culturally relevant pieces of art to be displayed at their evening festival. The event was a huge hit, and I look forward to exploring multicultural art with next years 3rd grade artists!

Glue/Pastel Fish by 2nd Grade!
After drawing the fish on black paper, the artists traced their entire drawing with glue. The next week chalk pastels were added and blended to achieve these dramatic pieces.
2nd Grade Fish Prints!
Students used two different kinds of printmaking to create these underwater masterpieces. First, we used watercolors to create the waves on our paper. We then printed with yarn to create the seaweed. Students created a one of a kind fish out of fine gauge print foam. We then rolled ink over the foam fish and printed them on our background. The result is ocean magic!
Third Grade Soft Sculpture- Funky Fish!
Third grade artists learned about soft sculpture and 3D art as they created these large fish. They loved working so large, and the stuffing was really fun!
