3rd grade leaf bowls!

Every year in third grade, we do a leaf themed clay project.  This year, we switched it up from a sculptural piece to a more functional piece.  The students created a slab bowl with a sculptural leaf and vine.  The glaze used was a Crystal-Tex with bursts of surprising colors.  The students were thrilled with their final product.

Slab construction owls with 2nd grade artists!

Clay is everyone's favorite, and 2nd graders were so excited to build and glaze these unique owl pieces.  Using slab construction, students created the body of the owl and added their own personal touches for details.  Glaze choices were limited to a natural palate and students practiced their skill in proper glazing techniques.  The result is fantastic!

Welcome 2016-2017!

Kindergarteners created these vibrant sunflower heads to welcome the school year!  A combination of tracing, cutting, gluing and even finger painting was used.  Kindergarten artists are the best!
